The Battery Show Europe offers participants the opportunity to discover the latest products and solutions from the battery industry at the largest trade fair in Europe. Over 800 battery manufacturing companies will present the latest market innovations, ideas for increasing battery efficiency and reducing production costs with live product demonstrations. There will also be the opportunity to discuss all aspects of the topic with experts.

Our institute is on site with experts from two departments and focuses its research on the charging and discharging of batteries, the optimization of battery production and the ageing of batteries.

Researchers from the »Materials Characterization and Testing« department will be presenting an exhibit on »Inline layer thickness measurement of battery foil coatings«. This technology is based on the terahertz measurement technology that we have further developed and opens up new possibilities for checking the coating of battery cells. Terahertz inspection systems are non-contact, non-destructive and pose no health risks.

Researchers from the »Flow and Material Simulation« department will be presenting the latest developments in our »BEST« simulation tool in Stuttgart, as well as advances in physical cell simulation and battery production processes. The software enables a precise simulation of the three-dimensional microstructure of electrodes, which provides important insights into the behavior of the battery cell. In addition, various ageing models and analysis methods are integrated into the latest software version. These enhancements enable us to develop a better understanding of battery cells.
